Provo Canyon Scenic Byway

The wide flatwater of the Provo River, consistently full of fishermen and rafters, creates a feeling of peace and tranquil fun along this beautiful drive. Above the canyon, US Hwy 189 passes Deer Creek Reservoir and heads into Heber Valley, tucked at the base of towering Mount Timpanogos. There are several pullouts along the highway to access Provo River - a Blue-Ribbon river known for prolific trout populations. Provo Canyon runs approximately 24 miles from Heber Valley to the Provo/Orem area. It is a primary thoroughfare between Heber Valley and Utah County, and is accessible year-round.

Provo Canyon Parkway

This 14-mile paved parkway trail in Provo Canyon runs west from Vivian Park, down the canyon, and connects to additional trails and paths in the Provo/Orem area. The parkway trail is a multi-use path, suitable for bicyclists, runners, walkers, and adults and children of all skill levels.

Bridal Veil Falls

The 600-foot, multi-tiered waterfall is located along Highway 189 in the scenic Provo Canyon. It is easily accessible and open year-round. Ample paved parking is provided, along with picnic tables and a short paved trail to the base of the waterfall. Bridal Veil Falls and Park sits next to the beautiful Provo River.

Alpine Loop Scenic Backway

This scenic paved route can be accessed from US Hwy 189 by turning off at the Sundance exit onto State Route 92. The scenic route winds through forested areas, including Sundance Mountain Resort, the base of Mount Timpanogos, Cascade Springs, and into Heber Valley.

Sundance Mountain Resort

As a world-renowned, year-round luxury mountain resort, summer visitors can enjoy zipline tours, mountain biking, hiking, scenic chairlift rides, horseback riding, fly fishing, art classes, and outdoor summer performances and concerts. Winters offer a uniquely intimate experience for all range of skiers and snowboarders with a vertical drop of 2,150 feet.

Timpanogos Cave National Monument

Located high on the rocky slopes of American Fork Canyon in the shadow of Mount Timpanogos in Utah's Wasatch Range are three limestone caves: Hansen Cave, Middle Cave, and Timpanogos Cave that make up this national monument and local treasure. These exquisite caverns are decorated with an elaborate display of helictites and anthodites in a variety of colors. Advance tickets are required for entry.
