Open the Icy Gates: Utah Ice Castles Invites Guests to Experience Winter Magic

January 9 2025, Midway, Utah– The wait will soon be over for the return of Utah’s most popular winter attraction. Ice Castles in Midway, Utah will open the icy gates to the public at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15. Ice artisans have been working around the clock in the Wasatch Back to capitalize on the recent cold temperatures. Guests will be able to step into magic and wonder with a landscape filled with ice slides, towers, tunnels and caverns. Explore stunning new sculptures crafted by internationally renowned ice sculptors.

The frozen attraction also offers horse-drawn sleigh rides, and new this winter, guests will have the chance to see a nightly fire show atop the icy towers after sunset.

“We are thrilled to bring the enchantment of Ice Castles back to Midway, where it all began,” said Kyle Standifird, CEO of Ice Castles. “This year, we will reveal a unique design to Midway, along with a bold fusion of fire and ice that will captivate visitors with its fiery elegance against the frozen landscape."

About Ice Castles
Ice Castles has been bringing fairy tales to life since its inception in 2011. Founder Brent Christensen developed the patented process used to create Ice Castles while attempting to build a winter playground for his kids in the front yard of their home in Alpine, Utah. The project drew crowds who came out to tour Christensen’s frozen creation. Ice Castles has since turned into an internationally renowned tourist attraction with multiple locations across North America.
