Heber Valley, Utah (May 22, 2024) — The Cultural Fire Events team is thrilled to announce the return of the annual Intermountain Championships Pow Wow, taking place on June 1-2, 2024, at the picturesque River’s Edge Resort, located at 7000 Old HWY 40, Heber City, UT, 84032.
“We are excited to see the return of this event to Heber Valley and, with it, the vibrant traditions of Native American culture,” said Dallin Koecher, Executive Director of Heber Valley Tourism. “Pow wows are lively gatherings that highlight dancing, singing, and the opportunity to experience Indigenous cuisine.”
Pow wows are essential social gatherings that have become a way for Native American people from various tribal backgrounds to come together, share experiences, reconnect with old acquaintances, and make new friends. These events also serve as an educational opportunity for future generations of dancers and singers, ensuring that time-honored traditions are preserved and celebrated. This family-friendly event in Heber Valley welcomes all attendees who come with respect, curiosity, and an open heart.
Join us for a weekend of cultural enrichment, spectacular performances, and community spirit as Hal Eagletail, Master of Ceremony, leads the two-day festivities. Attendees are encouraged to bring their camp chairs and canopies, as the weather is expected to be warm. This year's event promises to be a memorable celebration of culture and community. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids ageds12 and under. Tickets can be purchased at the entry gate. If you are interested in booking Indigenous dancing or singing, or getting involved with supporting the pow wow, please contact Jacob Crane at culturalfireevents@gmail.com.
