Geocaching is a fun activity where participants search for hidden caches (boxes with various items inside) by using a handheld GPS (global positioning system), a smart phone with the proper app downloaded, or a similar device.
The owner of the cache shares the GPS coordinates or a riddle as to where the box is located. You enter those coordinates into your device and navigate your way to the box. When you find the box, you traditionally take an item from it and leave an item behind for the next person to discover. Some have log books where you can log who you are and some thoughts about the experience.
There are over 50 geocache locations around Heber Valley, Utah, including one at the Visitor Center (hint!) All of these locations and more can be found at geocaching.com.
