September 2022 Director's Letter

“The New Normal" - this phrase has been thrown around since the waning days of the pandemic. As we learned at this past chamber lunch, a new normal is here to stay and the data backs that up. Phil Dean, economist with the Kem C. Gardner Institute showed us that our economies aren’t going back to the way things were before the pandemic. What that means for all of us is we have to adapt and be flexible to changes in the economy. Preparation is key. Think about what your business can do to be prepared for disruptions that could affect your operations. Over the next two months, we look forward to continuing to provide education on workforce recruitment and retention as well as a discussion on attainable housing. We know that tackling these issues will take collaboration and a community approach, so come learn how we can all help make a positive change for our valley.
