Just over one mile in length, signs along the trail explain the natural habitat of the area. Expect some elevation gain on this hike, making the difficulty moderate.
Benches are provided along the trail to catch your breath and enjoy the scenery.
From the highest point, scenic views of Currant Creek Reservoir below and red sandstone cliffs to the east are thoroughly rewarding.
The trailhead can be accessed from the lower loop of Currant Creek campground. The trailhead is located in Loop D of the campground, where parking and restrooms are available.
