March 2022 Business of the Month: Heber Valley Hospital
Heber Valley Hospital is a full-service community hospital dedicated to providing high-quality medical services to Wasatch County residents. Healthcare services include emergency care, women and newborn services, orthopedic and general surgery, heart care, cancer care, pain management, and telehealth.
Heber Valley Hospital has a rich history of providing medical care to Wasatch County with roots that date back as far as 1932 when the first hospital was opened by Doctors Bert and T.A. Danneberg in Lewis Alexander's home. In 1999, Intermountain Healthcare opened the new state-of-the-art medical facility at its current location on the south end of Heber Valley. This allowed for expanded healthcare services and access to the residents and visitors in our community. Then, in 2015, the facility began a five-year, multi-million-dollar renovation project that completed in 2020 and added several more inpatient and outpatient services to the medical campus. These expansions included extended urgent care and emergency care facilities and services, improved surgical suites, cancer care services, infusion therapy facilities and services, and an improved cafeteria for onsite dining – allowing Heber Valley Hospital to better care for the citizens in our community instead of transferring them for these types of services.
In addition to these onsite and in-person healthcare services, Heber Valley Hospital also offers telehealth services, allowing for patients that are less mobile or otherwise unable to come to the medical campus to still receive timely and much needed medical services and support. The telehealth services have also allowed the expert medical staff at Heber Valley Hospital to partner with outside specialized experts in areas where patients would typically need to be referred and transfer physically. Avoiding some of these referrals and transfers has allowed patients to receive world-class medical attention without having to travel out of the area.
Heber Valley Hospital is a big part of our local community and offers a variety of educational and wellness classes. At this time, only online classes are being offered. The hospital and larger Intermountain Healthcare network offer these free online classes to anyone interested. Learn more here: https://intermountainhealthcare.org/classes-and-events
