Mountain View Fellowship (MVF Church), led by Pastor Shane Finley, has been an integral part of the Heber Valley community for the past 15 years. The church offers a range of programs catering to men, women, youth, children, and older members, with a focus on preaching, leading, and fostering a sense of community among its members.
Situated in the breathtaking Heber Valley, MVF Church has found a home that aligns with its values of community and connection. When asked about why they love Heber Valley, the response is a testament to the beauty of the surroundings and the strong sense of community. Here, it's not uncommon to encounter familiar faces and experience a genuine connection with the people in the valley.
Contrary to a common stigma associated with churches, MVF Church actively dispels the notion that its concerns are confined to the church alone. Pastor Shane and the congregation are deeply involved in various community initiatives, including Rotary, neighborhood adoption, tutoring at Midway Elementary School, a food donation program, and a shoebox program during Christmas, among others. The church prides itself on genuinely caring for and actively contributing to the well-being of all members of the community.
What sets MVF Church apart is its commitment to inclusivity and outreach. The services provided are open to everyone, with Sunday services at 9:30 am and 11:00 am adopting a relaxed "come as you are" approach for any and all attendees. The church caters to all age groups with dedicated programs for kids, toddlers to middle school, and even offers nursing and baby rooms for the convenience of parents. The church's mission is clear – to help everyone meet Jesus and experience the transformative impact in their lives.
In addition to the regular Sunday services, MVF Church hosts a Bible School Study on Sunday nights, along with various men's and women's programs throughout the week. Pastor Shane’s personal journey, starting over 30 years ago when he gave his life to Christ, reflects a commitment to service and community building. His journey led him to Heber Valley 15 years ago, where he initiated a Bible study group in his living room. From those small beginnings, MVF Church has blossomed to become a growing and committed congregation today.
The success of MVF Church can be attributed to its genuine care for the community, demonstrated not only through spiritual guidance but also through active involvement in various community programs. The facility, available for rent, can accommodate almost 300 people and offers three additional breakout classrooms.
As a proud member of the Heber Valley Chamber, MVF Church values its role in fostering connections and contributing to the overall well-being of the community. The church extends an open invitation to all, encouraging community members to visit and learn more about their mission. Pastor Shane and the congregation are excited about the prospect of meeting more of the community and reinforcing their commitment to building meaningful connections in the Heber Valley.
