Utah Ice Castles

Frozen thrones, LED-lit sculptures, ice-carved tunnels, and slippery slides comprise the Utah Ice Castles, Midway’s famous icy annual attraction. All ages enjoy this limited-time fortress built using roughly 12,000 man-made icicles–entirely by the hands of 20 to 40 ice artists. This masterpiece, crafted annually from 25 million pounds of ice, is one of the only places on earth where you can witness ice sculptures at this scale. History of The Utah Ice Castles

Tickets and Reservations

Tickets for the Midway Ice Castles range from $20 to $30, depending on whether you visit during peak or off-peak days. Purchasing tickets online in advance is strongly recommended, to select a specific time window for your visit. A limited number of standby tickets may be available on-site for a higher price than online. However, standby tickets cannot be guaranteed if maximum capacity is reached. This helps manage crowd sizes and ensures that each visitor enjoys the magic without feeling rushed.

Enhance your experience with optional add-ons, such as sleigh rides or a private alcove experience. These unique offerings provide even more opportunities to create lasting memories.

Opening Dates and Length of Season

The Midway Ice Castles typically open in January, conditions permitting. The exact opening and closing dates depend on weather factors, such as precipitation and temperature. Construction begins when conditions are dry and no precipitation is in the forecast, ensuring the stability and quality of the ice structures.

Once open, the Ice Castles usually remain available for visitors through late February or early March, weather-dependent. For the most up-to-date information, check the official Ice Castles website before planning your visit.
